The Tanjung Manis District Civil Defence Force (APM) was immediately summoned to the scene to neutralise the potential threat.

The emergency call regarding the Snake Catching Service (KMU) was received at the district headquarters, prompting the swift deployment of a four-member team to the village.

Upon arrival, the personnel located the reptile, a Golden Ring Snake measuring approximately 1.5 metres in length, resting on a clothes hanger in the backyard.

Using professional pinching methods, the APM team carefully secured the snake, ensuring that it was handled safely without causing injury to the residents or the animal itself.

The operation was completed efficiently, and the team confirmed that the area was once again safe for the household members to occupy.

“A total of 04 members were mobilised to the location and successfully caught a golden ring snake about 1.5 metres long that was on a clothes hanger behind the complainant’s house using the pinching method,” an official statement from APM Tanjung Manis confirmed.

The golden ring snake, while often found in rural areas, can pose a risk if provoked, particularly when found in close proximity to human dwellings.

The Tanjung Manis APM continues to remind the public that keeping backyards clear of debris and maintaining orderly storage areas can significantly reduce the likelihood of attracting wildlife.

The captured snake was subsequently removed from the residential area and later released into a safe, natural habitat far from human settlement.

Residents are encouraged to report any sightings of venomous or large snakes to the Civil Defence Force immediately rather than attempting to capture the animals themselves.
