Held at the Tanjung Manis Jetty, the event was officiated by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, with remarks from Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
Datuk Len Talif emphasized that the safari exemplifies the state’s ongoing development initiatives that prioritize environmental sustainability. “This approach ensures that development generates economic benefits while maintaining ecological balance for future generations,” he stated.
He further noted that the event serves as a platform to unite various communities, government agencies, and the private sector through a shared passion for sustainable practices.

The fishing safari also highlighted active community participation, fostering a spirit of togetherness and promoting healthier lifestyles. Datuk Len Talif pointed out that such initiatives contribute to building stronger community ties and a collective commitment to preserving the environment.
A significant aspect of Sarawak’s sustainability efforts is the deployment of artificial reefs along its coastline. The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) has introduced artificial reefs in key coastal areas, including Kuala Rajang, Belawai, Pulau Bruit, and Kabong. These initiatives aim to enhance marine biodiversity and support sustainable fishing practices.
The Tanjung Manis Fishing Safari 2025 not only celebrated the region’s rich marine resources but also reinforced the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in safeguarding the environment for future generations.
