The project began in October 2025 with an eight-month timeline, funded under the Greater Kuching Development Coordination Agency (GKCDA). With a contract value of RM1,360,320.88, the works include widening three kilometres of the existing road and constructing a new 0.25-kilometre paved stretch.

Henry Harry Jinep said the project aims to improve comfort and safety for road users while enhancing connectivity for agricultural activities. The scope also covers drainage structures, including a 900-metre pipe culvert, a 300-metre pipe culvert, a 3-metre double box culvert, and a 3.5-metre double box culvert.

He highlighted that the upgraded road network will not only strengthen infrastructure but also improve accessibility and communication for residents, benefiting both villagers and those passing through the area.

The inspection reflects the Sarawak Government’s continued focus on rural infrastructure development. By investing in road and drainage improvements, the state aims to enhance mobility, reduce flood risks, and support economic activity in villages such as Kampung Bobak Sajong.

The project is expected to be completed on schedule, providing a safer and more reliable route for residents while strengthening Bau’s overall infrastructure network.
