Sarawak’s Taylor Louise to Perform at ASAF 2025 in London

Sarawak’s Taylor Louise to Perform at ASAF 2025 in London

LONDON — A young musical talent from Sarawak is set to make Malaysia proud on the international stage. Eleven-year-old Taylor Louise, a rising star from Kuching, has departed for London today to perform at the Asia Students Arts Festival (ASAF) 2025 Winner Showcase, held at the renowned Britten Theatre, Royal College of Music.

The event, celebrating its 10th anniversary, gathers top young performers from across Asia and Australia, and Taylor is the only Malaysian representative from Sarawak selected to perform this year.

Taylor will deliver two impressive performances — a musical theatre piece and her award-winning pop cover of “Easy On Me”, the song that earned her the Champion title at ASAF 2025. Her participation in this prestigious showcase not only highlights her musical talent but also puts Sarawak on the global cultural map.

From busking in the streets of Kuching to gracing the stage of one of London’s most prestigious concert halls, Taylor’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Her early performances at open mic nights laid the foundation for what is now a promising international music career.

Joining her in London are her supportive parents and vocal coach Sabrina Tnay, who have guided her through this remarkable journey. Taylor is also scheduled to attend exclusive vocal training sessions, rehearsals, and a masterclass led by renowned British baritone Jerome Knox, celebrated for his performances at venues like the Royal Albert Hall.

In an emotional statement, Taylor said, “It still feels like a dream. From singing on the streets to performing in London—it’s all thanks to God’s blessings and everyone who believed in me. I’m proud to represent Sarawak and Malaysia.”

Notably, Taylor becomes the youngest Sarawakian to perform at the Britten Theatre and the first from Sarawak to win ASAF — a proud moment for the state and the nation.

Her story reflects the spirit of perseverance, talent, and community support, reminding us all that dreams can be achieved with heart and dedication.
