Speaking at the Teachers’ Day Celebration at SK Semah here on Thursday, Ahmad Johnie paid tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of educators, particularly those serving in rural and remote communities.

“Teachers are like candles that burn themselves to illuminate others. Without teachers, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” he said.

He underscored the importance of collaborative partnerships between schools and the surrounding community. In particular, he encouraged active participation from Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBGs), village heads, and tribal leaders to support students and schools in achieving excellence.

“The success of a school is not solely dependent on teachers. It requires the joint effort of the whole community. Education is a shared responsibility,” he stressed.

Ahmad Johnie also reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for better education access and infrastructure throughout the Igan parliamentary constituency, ensuring that no child is left behind due to logistical or geographic challenges.
