Tebedu Assemblyman Distributes 105 Water Tanks to Local Villages

TEBEDU – Residents of Kampung Kujang Sain and Kampung Tepoi in Tebedu received a total of 105 water tanks as part of the Sarawak Government’s efforts to improve water security in rural areas.

In a symbolic handover ceremony held at the Kampung Kujang Sain Longhouse on Tuesday, Tebedu State Assemblyman (ADUN), Dr. Simon Sinang Bada, personally delivered 78 tanks to Kampung Kujang Sain, while Kampung Tepoi received 27 tanks.

The initiative is part of the state’s ongoing programme to provide alternative water storage solutions in areas prone to supply disruptions.

Dr. Simon explained that the selection of recipients was made based on surveys and assessments conducted by the Serian Division Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), and confirmed by the Serian District Office.

“Use the water tanks provided as an alternative source during water supply disruptions, especially during peak seasons such as Gawai Festival, Christmas, and the dry season,” he urged.

He also reminded residents to exercise caution during open burning, particularly during dry spells, to prevent fire outbreaks.

Dr. Simon encouraged households that have not received water tank aid to submit their applications to the Tebedu District Office, with a copy to the Tebedu Service Centre for processing.

This handover highlights the Sarawak Government’s commitment to enhancing rural infrastructure and ensuring that all communities have access to basic needs, especially water supply during critical periods.
