A Community United in Ramadan Spirit

The ‘Iftar Perdana Kuching’ is an annual event that fosters unity and strengthens the bond among the Muslim community in Sarawak. It provides a platform for people from all walks of life to come together in the spirit of Ramadan.

One participant, Aiman, 32, shared his excitement, saying,
“This is my first time attending, and I am amazed by the crowd and the togetherness. It truly feels like one big family gathering.”

Another visitor, Kak Ros, 45, mentioned how she and her family had been preparing for this event since morning.
“We packed some homemade dishes and came early to find a good spot. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate Ramadan with the community.”

A Tradition That Keeps Growing

Every year, the ‘Iftar Perdana Kuching’ attracts a larger crowd. Authorities ensured a smooth and safe event, with DBKU personnel managing the area and providing assistance where needed. The event also featured azan (call to prayer) and a short religious talk before the breaking of fast.

As the sun set over Kuching, the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and warmth as everyone enjoyed their meals together. Events like this showcase the beauty of Ramadan and the strong sense of community among Kuching residents.
