In a devastating incident this morning, tragedy struck as two Armed Forces helicopters collided midair during a rehearsal session for the Royal Malaysian Navy’s 90th-anniversary celebration in Lumo. The collision involved a Eurocopter Fenek and an Augusta Westland AW139 maritime operations helicopter, resulting in a scene of horror and chaos.

Fatalities and Rescue Efforts

Early reports from the Perak Fire and Rescue Department indicate at least seven fatalities, with efforts underway to rescue four others from one of the helicopters. The collision and subsequent crash have sent shockwaves through the community, leaving authorities scrambling to assess the extent of the damage and provide assistance to those affected.

Shocking Footage Circulates on Social Media

Shocking footage of the collision and the helicopters’ plummet to the ground has been circulating on social media, capturing the harrowing moment of impact. The AW139 helicopter crashed into the staircase of the TLDM Stadium, while the other chopper landed in the TLDM Sports Complex swimming pool, adding to the chaos and confusion surrounding the tragic event.
