KUCHING (Jan 16): A fatal accident in Kota Samarahan claimed the life of a 37-year-old motorcyclist from Kampung Emperuh Jambu, Padawan, earlier this morning.

“The motorcyclist was confirmed dead at the scene, while the car driver sustained no injuries,” Supt Mohd Irwan said when contacted by Utusan Borneo.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but sadly, they could not save the motorcyclist. The body was later transported to the Sarawak General Hospital for further procedures, including a post-mortem.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which addresses offences related to causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

Road users are reminded to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure their safety and that of others on the road. Tragic incidents like this highlight the importance of cautious driving, especially during peak traffic hours.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.
