Tragic Crash Near Suai: Two Men Killed in Cargo Truck Collision with Trailer Lorry

MIRI (Dec 20): A deadly accident occurred early today when a cargo truck crashed into a parked trailer lorry along Jalan Bintulu-Miri, near Suai, leaving two men dead.

The incident took place around 2:37 am, when the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call. A rescue team from the Lopeng fire station was immediately dispatched to the scene, which was located approximately 28 kilometers from the station, near Ladang Tiga in Suai.

Upon arrival, Bomba personnel found a tragic scene. The cargo truck had rear-ended the stationary trailer lorry, which was parked by the roadside. The two victims, the 31-year-old driver, Bonaventure Jimmat, and his 26-year-old passenger, Keeshen Marks Donal Bujang Nasil, were trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters quickly got to work to extricate the victims from the wreckage. However, despite their best efforts, medical personnel who arrived later declared both men dead at the scene.

The bodies of the deceased were later handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary action.
