SIMUNJAN – The Simunjan District Operations Control Centre (KPOD) responded to an emergency call on Monday morning after a man was injured in a tree fall incident along Jalan Simunjan–Gedong.
The call was received at 8.05am, reporting that the victim had sustained serious leg injuries after being crushed by a fallen tree.
The impact left the individual unable to move, prompting immediate assistance from the Civil Defence Force (APM Simunjan).
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide aid before transporting the victim to Simunjan Hospital for further medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the injuries were significant but emphasised that the swift response ensured the victim received timely care.
APM Simunjan highlighted the importance of rapid coordination between hospitals and emergency services in such cases.
The incident underscores the risks posed by falling trees, particularly during unpredictable weather conditions, and the need for vigilance among road users.
Local officials reminded residents that emergency services are available around the clock and urged the public to report incidents immediately to ensure quick intervention.
