<strong>KUCHING (May 5): A devastating fire broke out early this morning along Jalan Patinggi Ali, resulting in the destruction of one house and significant damage to another.</strong>

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) officials received the distress call at 3:04 am, prompting swift action from firefighters stationed at Padungan and Batu Lintang fire stations.

According to Bomba’s statement, the inferno engulfed two residences, with the first house sustaining 90% destruction and the second suffering 50% damage to its upper level. Additionally, a motorcycle parked nearby was completely consumed by the flames.

Miraculously, all occupants managed to escape unharmed, averting any casualties.

Efforts to contain the blaze commenced immediately, with firefighters successfully gaining control by 3:35 am. Subsequent overhaul operations ensured the complete extinguishment of any lingering embers, concluding at 5:05 am.

At present, investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire and assess the total extent of the incurred losses.
