KUCHING, Jan 7 – His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, paid a friendly and casual visit to Vivacity Megamall here this afternoon.
The visit reflected the close personal ties between Tun Pehin Sri and the management of Ray Optics, a business operated by long-time friends of the Sarawak Head of State. During the visit, Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan took the opportunity to undergo an eye examination and place an order for reading glasses at the outlet.
Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan were accompanied by their daughters, Sharifah Fariah and Sharifah Nong-Jassima, adding a warm family atmosphere to the outing. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by Vivacity Megamall Managing Director Mr Sim Yau Hang, Vivacity Megamall Manager Mr Jonathan Naming, as well as members of the mall’s management team and staff on duty.
The presence of the Sarawak Head of State at the popular shopping destination attracted respectful attention from shoppers and staff, though the visit itself was kept simple and private. The interaction between Tun Pehin Sri, Toh Puan and the mall representatives was cordial, reflecting mutual respect built over many years of friendship and cooperation.
After completing their arrangements at Ray Optics, Tun Pehin Sri and his family proceeded to have lunch at Kopitiam Oriental Kopi within the mall. The relaxed meal marked the end of their visit before they headed home later in the afternoon.
In a brief remark, Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan conveyed their appreciation to the management of Vivacity Megamall for the warm reception and thoughtful hospitality extended throughout their visit. They also acknowledged the professionalism of the staff who attended to them during their time at the mall.
