KUCHING, 29 April 2025 – His Excellency the Head of State of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, warmly welcomed a courtesy visit from the Sarawak Children’s Islam Welfare Association (PERKTHIS) this morning at the Main Reception Room, Sarawak State Palace.
The PERKTHIS delegation was led by its President, Tuan Haji Mortadha Lau bin Abdullah, along with members of the association’s leadership. The purpose of the visit was to introduce PERKTHIS leaders to His Excellency and to share updates on their welfare initiatives aimed at empowering the Chinese Muslim community in Sarawak.
A key focus of the visit was to inform His Excellency about the ongoing development of the Chinese Islamic Cultural Centre which will be built at Jalan Bako, Kuching. This upcoming centre is expected to become a significant new landmark in Sarawak, promoting social integration and acting as a hub for the Chinese Muslim community.
The centre will be equipped with prayer facilities, community halls, and a resource centre for non-Muslims interested in learning about Islam. It aims to encourage greater understanding and cooperation among Sarawak’s diverse ethnic communities, promoting unity and peaceful coexistence.
Also present at the visit were Deputy President Muhammad Luk bin Sulaiman Luk, Vice President Lukhman Ting bin Abdullah, Secretary Nur Aisyah Chan Abdullah, Assistant Secretary Zahrah binti Abang Othman, Treasurer Noor Azlyn, Assistant Treasurer Rose Nawi Kim, Sibu Branch Chairwoman Nasyitah Ting binti Abdullah, Committee Member Helen Chung, Kuching Branch Secretary Rosmeela Abdullah, and Kuching Branch Assistant Secretary Zuraini binti Awang Basar.
