UKPS Strengthens Training Ties with Sarawak Civil Service Institute

KUCHING – The Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit (UKPS) paid a courtesy visit to the Leadership Institute of Sarawak Civil Service (LISCS) on 6 April 2026, aimed at enhancing cooperation in human capital development and training.

The UKPS delegation was led by YBhg. Dato Clarence Rorote anak Sagon, Deputy Director (Security), accompanied by Sahamran Bin Ibrahim (Assistant Director of Operations), Dr. Izzurul Hisyam, and Cornelius Philip Aso (Assistant Director of Training).

They were warmly received by LISCS top management, including YBhg. Datu Dr. Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Intan Rahmah, Chief Operations Officer, and division heads.

Discussions centred on strengthening training collaboration between the two organisations. Plans include utilising LISCS facilities for UKPS courses and integrating expert instructors to enhance the technical skills of UKPS officers and members.

Tailored programmes will also be reviewed to meet operational requirements, ensuring that training aligns with the broader direction of the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS).

The meeting underscored the importance of synergy between enforcement and civil service institutions. Both sides expressed commitment to fostering excellence in professional competence, with UKPS highlighting the need for continuous skill development to meet evolving security challenges.
