Operations Commander PBK II Abdul Hakim Supian revealed that by the time firefighters arrived, the flames had already been brought under control by quick-thinking members of the public using nine fire extinguishers.

“The fire was then fully extinguished with the help of two hose reels installed in the building,” he said. “The fire involved a 100% burn in the engine compartment of the vehicle.”

He praised the public’s swift action, which prevented the fire from spreading to other vehicles or property. “Their immediate response made a huge difference,” he added.

The firefighting operation involved 10 personnel, supported by one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit. The team remained at the site to ensure the area was fully safe before concluding the operation.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities urge the public to always ensure proper vehicle maintenance and to stay alert for any signs of overheating or mechanical failure, especially in parking structures.
