KUALA LUMPUR, 5 February – Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, the wife of the Head of State, received a briefing on the Sarawak Flood Relief Mission from the Sarawak branch of the Association of Bumiputera Women in Business and Profession, Malaysia (PENIAGAWATI).
The briefing, held on Wednesday, was led by PENIAGAWATI Sarawak’s president, Datuk Emmy Suraya Hussein. The relief mission aims to provide essential aid to flood victims in Serian, Sarawak. Among the items prepared for distribution are prayer kits, hygiene kits, food and beverages, mattresses, pillows, blankets, electrical appliances, gas stoves, second-hand clothing, and kitchenware.

The delivery of the aid is scheduled for Friday, February 7, at the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Serian. PENIAGAWATI Sarawak has successfully raised RM6,000 in cash donations and collected three tonnes of essential goods for this humanitarian effort.

The aid distribution will be carried out in collaboration with the Sarawak Social Welfare Department to ensure a smooth and efficient process, ensuring all the collected donations reach those in need.
Speaking at the briefing, Toh Puan Fauziah expressed her heartfelt appreciation to PENIAGAWATI Sarawak for their dedication and hard work. She commended the association’s initiative and hopes that it will inspire more organisations to step forward and help alleviate the burden faced by flood victims in Sarawak.
“We are grateful for such meaningful efforts. I hope this initiative becomes an example for other associations to continue helping those affected by floods,” said Toh Puan Fauziah.
This mission is part of ongoing efforts to support flood victims and bring relief to communities affected by seasonal floods in Sarawak.
