KUCHING (Feb 8): The death of a woman found in a rental room at MJC Batu Kawa has been confirmed as a murder case, according to Padawan District police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi. Initially reported as a sudden death, further investigation revealed signs of foul play.

Preliminary investigations found a fabric ligature around the victim’s neck, suggesting possible strangulation. Due to this discovery, the case is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Police received a report regarding the incident at 2.16pm yesterday at the Batu Kawa police station. Upon arrival, authorities secured the scene and began a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
