Women of Impact Forum 2025 in Kuching to Champion Social Change

KUCHING – Sarawak will host the inaugural Women of Impact (WOI) Forum 2025 on 15 November, an event designed to highlight the role of women in driving meaningful social change across Malaysia.

Organised by the WOI Core Committee, the half-day forum will bring together influential women changemakers, national leaders, and civil society advocates to address pressing issues that affect communities on the margins.

The forum’s theme, “Driving Social Change,” reflects its mission to go beyond surface-level discussions and explore what it truly means to create lasting impact in a world often dominated by optics.

According to the organisers, the WOI Forum will adopt a living-room style dialogue format, warm, candid, and deeply human. This approach is intended to foster honest conversations and bridge the gap between civil society, policy, and corporate leadership.

Its intention is to honour unsung women who build quietly, far from publicity or privilege, and to bridge the worlds of civil society, policy and corporate leadership in pursuit of meaningful reform,” the committee said in a statement.

The programme will feature eight speakers and four panellists from diverse fields, including social entrepreneurship, humanitarian relief, law, health, and grassroots activism.

These voices are expected to provide a wide spectrum of perspectives on how women can shape solutions to challenges such as poverty, education, animal welfare, environmental protection, and the invisible emotional labour borne by women.

Deputy Prime Minister Dato Amar Fadillah Yusof will attend as Guest of Honour, delivering a keynote address on “Women, Civil Society and the Government’s Role in Empowering Change.” His participation underscores the government’s recognition of women’s contributions to national development and social wellbeing.

The forum is also expected to serve as a platform for networking and collaboration, encouraging participants to form partnerships that can translate dialogue into action.

By spotlighting women who work quietly behind the scenes, the WOI Forum aims to inspire new generations of leaders and strengthen the role of women in shaping Malaysia’s future.

The event will be held at the Borneo Cultures Museum Auditorium in Kuching, a symbolic venue that reflects Sarawak’s growing role as a hub for cultural and social innovation.

With its focus on inclusivity and reform, the Women of Impact Forum 2025 is set to become a landmark event in Sarawak’s social development calendar, amplifying the voices of women who are reshaping communities and driving change.
