YB Lo Khere Chiang Pays Final Respects to Deputy Premier’s Late Mother

KUCHING – The mother of Sarawak Deputy Premier, YB Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim So Hien, passed away peacefully at her home recently at the age of 83. Her passing has brought deep sadness to both her family and the wider Sarawak community, who remember her as a respected figure who stood firmly behind her family through many years of public service.

The quiet and peaceful passing of Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim So Hien marks the end of a long life lived with dignity. Many have come forward to offer their condolences, expressing sympathy and support for the Deputy Premier and his family as they navigate this difficult moment. Losing a loved one is never easy, and the messages of comfort from friends, colleagues, and the public serve as a reminder that the family is not alone during this time of mourning.

Among those who visited the wake was Perdana Menteri’s Special Envoy and Batu Kitang assemblyman, YB Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang. He came with his team to pay their final respects and extend heartfelt condolences to Dr Sim and the entire family. His presence reflected the close working relationship and deep respect shared between the leaders, as well as the longstanding traditions of unity and support within Sarawak’s leadership circle.

During the visit, YB Lo offered words of comfort to the grieving family, acknowledging the irreplaceable role of a mother in shaping the lives of her children and supporting their responsibilities. He also conveyed hopes that the family would find strength through their faith, their unity, and the steady support of relatives, friends, and the community.

The passing of Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim So Hien is felt not only by her family but also by many who have known the contributions and sacrifices behind the scenes of a family dedicated to public service. As Sarawak continues to grow and move forward, the values she upheld—family, humility, and perseverance—remain deeply respected.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort and strength in the days ahead.
