YB Lo Khere Chiang Visits and Opens Ramadan Bazaars in Batu Kitang

YB Lo Khere Chiang Visits and Opens Ramadan Bazaars in Batu Kitang

Padawan, 5 March 2025 – YB Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang, the ADUN for N13 Batu Kitang, officially opened and visited several Ramadan Bazaars across his constituency to show support for local traders and join the festive atmosphere of Ramadan 2025.

His first stop was at the Ramadan Market at Prince Commercial Centre in 7th Mile, a popular spot for food lovers looking for traditional kuih-muih, tasty grilled meats, and modern drinks like bubble tea. After that, YB Lo made his way to the Batu 10 Ramadan Market, another well-known bazaar in Kuching where locals gather daily to buy food for breaking fast.

These Ramadan Bazaars are more than just food markets. They have become important cultural and community events in Sarawak, bringing together people of all races and religions to enjoy good food and warm friendship during the fasting month.

YB Lo did not visit alone. He was joined by his hardworking team and volunteers, together with Padawan Municipal Council Chairman Tan Kai. Also present were Cr Alvin Chong and Batu 10 community member Albert Lee, both known for their strong support for local community projects.

The group was warmly welcomed by JKKK village chiefs, local Kapitans, Panghulus, local business owners, and shoppers, who were excited to meet their elected representative. YB Lo spent time walking around the markets, talking to stall operators, listening to their challenges, and even giving out Ramadan gifts to thank them for their contribution to the community.

YB Lo shared that Ramadan Bazaars show the real spirit of Sarawak — people from different backgrounds coming together to celebrate culture, food, and friendship. He also stressed the importance of supporting small traders, as they are the heartbeat of the local economy and help keep Sarawak’s rich food heritage alive.

As Ramadan continues, YB Lo promised to keep visiting more bazaars and meeting the people, ensuring N13 Batu Kitang remains a place where community spirit stays strong.
