BALINGIAN: A total of 15 community leaders under the DUN N58 Balingian constituency have received their appointment certificates for the 2025–2027 term in a ceremony held at the Balingian Small District Office on Wednesday.

The ceremony saw 11 longhouse chiefs and four village heads having their appointments extended, while one new appointee was introduced to serve as a longhouse chief.

State Assembly Member (ADUN) for Balingian, Abdul Yakub Arbi, who officiated the ceremony, reminded all community leaders (KMKK) to fulfil their responsibilities with integrity, honesty and transparency.

“You are the backbone of community stability and an essential bridge between the people and the government,” he said.

“Carry out your duties fairly and with a genuine spirit of public service to ensure the continued wellbeing and development of the people in line with the aspirations of the Sarawak government, especially within the DUN N58 Balingian area.”

Abdul Yakub also extended his congratulations to those whose terms were renewed and welcomed the newly appointed KMKK to the service.

Also present were Mukah District Officer, Leader Ahip, and Assistant Administrative Officer of the Balingian Sub-District Office, Abdul Malik Talip.
