2,867 Candidates Receive Licences at MyLesen B2 Bukit Assek

SIBU – The MyLesen B2 Programme Handover Ceremony for DUN N.51 Bukit Assek was successfully held at the SMK Sacred Heart Sibu Hall on 7 March 2026, marking a significant milestone in community-driven licensing initiatives.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Tuan Chieng Jin Ek, Assemblyman for N.51 Bukit Assek, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local partners in ensuring the smooth implementation of the programme.

The initiative was made possible through strategic cooperation between JPJ Sarawak, Pusat Khidmat DUN N.51 Bukit Assek, and Akademi Memandu Suria Sibu Sdn. Bhd. Their combined efforts enabled the programme to run efficiently and provide opportunities for thousands of candidates.

A total of 2,867 individuals successfully obtained their Class B2 Driving Licences after passing the required screenings and tests conducted by JPJ. This achievement reflects the programme’s success in expanding access to driving qualifications, particularly for motorcyclists.

Representing JPJ Sarawak’s top management were Mr Mohd Faizal David bin Jemat, Deputy Director; Mr Yusniman bin Mohamad, Head of Driver Licensing Division; and Mr Jelapin anak Entalai, Head of the JPJ Sibu Branch. Their presence underscored JPJ’s commitment to supporting local initiatives that benefit the wider community.

JPJ Sarawak expressed its appreciation to all federal and state government agencies, as well as strategic partners, for their direct and indirect contributions. The department emphasised that such programmes not only provide practical benefits but also strengthen cooperation between institutions and the public.
