Two-Storey House in Pujut 2A Destroyed by Fire, No Injuries Reported

MIRI: A two-storey house in Lorong Rama 1, Pujut 2A, was completely destroyed in a fire last night. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the house was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

Fire Breaks Out at Night

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s (JBPM) Operations Centre (PGO) received an emergency call regarding the fire at 8.39pm. Firefighters from the Lopeng Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and Miri Sentral BBP were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the fire department’s Operations Exit Team (PKO) found that the permanent-structured house, measuring 50 by 60 square feet, was already engulfed in flames. The fire had spread rapidly, leaving the entire structure 100% destroyed.

Firefighters Extinguish the Blaze

Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the flames, using water sources from nearby fire hydrants. Their swift action prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring houses. The operation was successfully completed by 10.06pm.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is underway to determine what may have led to the incident. Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious and ensure fire safety measures are in place, especially in residential areas.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire prevention and preparedness, as fires can cause severe property damage within minutes.
