During the visit, the UKAS team met with Alabi, one of the survivors of the deadly incident. Alabi shared his harrowing experience, recalling the terrifying moments when the landslide struck in the early hours of January 29. The disaster affected 12 individuals, resulting in five fatalities, two injuries, and five survivors.

In addition to offering support to landslide victims, Awang Putra Yusri also provided financial aid on behalf of the UKAS Staff Welfare Club to five UKAS employees affected by the recent floods. This contribution is part of UKAS’s ongoing commitment to assisting those in need during times of crisis.

The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) expressed its deepest sympathies to the victims and their families, urging all affected individuals to stay strong. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
