LIMBANG: Firefighters from the Limbang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) successfully captured a nearly three-metre-long cobra in just 10 minutes on Friday evening.
According to a statement from BBP Limbang, the snake was found in a cement drain in front of the Limbang Marine Police Flat around 4pm.
Senior Fire Officer Dua Razimey Badas and his team responded quickly to an emergency call received at 4.34pm. They rushed to the scene, which was about five kilometres from the fire station.
“Upon arrival, we were informed that a fully grown cobra, measuring about three metres in length, was inside the cement drain. Our team immediately used a snake-catching tool to secure the reptile safely,” said the statement.
The entire rescue operation took less than 10 minutes. Once the firefighters ensured the area was safe, they transported the snake back to its natural habitat.
The operation concluded at 4.46pm without any complications.
The quick and efficient response of the Limbang Fire and Rescue team prevented any potential danger to the nearby residents. Authorities remind the public to remain cautious when encountering wild snakes and to contact emergency services for professional assistance.
