According to Suhaidi, the aid was provided by Lingga State Assemblyman (ADUN) Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, who is currently away on official duties.

“We hope this contribution will ease their burden. Though small, it symbolizes new hope for the affected families. We urge them to remain strong and patient in facing this challenge,” he said.

Immediate Assistance from JKM

The Sri Aman Social Welfare Department (JKM) also stepped in swiftly to support the victims. Essential daily items such as mattresses, mats, towels, telekung (prayer garments), prayer mats, pelikat cloth, blankets, pillows, and food supplies were distributed.

The aid effort was also supported by Sri Aman District Officer Shariff Bujang, Pemanca Abang Norin Abang Norudin, and Village Head Haji Undom Jimi Peri, who were present during the donation handover.

Hope for Further Assistance

Authorities have assured that follow-up actions will be taken to ensure long-term relief for the affected families. The compassionate response from local leaders and agencies highlights the spirit of unity and care in Sarawak, especially in times of crisis.
