Plaza Merdeka’s ‘Kamboh Raya’ Strengthens Unity and Charity in Kuching

KUCHING: Plaza Merdeka’s ‘Kamboh Raya’ programme brought warmth and unity to the community as orphans and asnaf from Kampung Melayu Bau were celebrated in a heartfelt event on Saturday. The shopping centre transformed into a hub of generosity, reflecting the true spirit of Ramadan and Syawal.

Sarawak’s Minister of Women, Children, and Community Wellbeing, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, graced the occasion, highlighting the significance of gratitude and charity during the holy month.

“Ramadan is not just about fasting, but also about reflecting on our blessings and sharing with those in need. Syawal represents unity, love, and generosity,” she stated during her speech.

Dato Sri Fatimah commended Plaza Merdeka and the Managing Director of Plaza Merdeka Holdings, Dato Steve Ng, along with his wife, Datin Anriza Wong Cordero, for their continuous efforts in supporting orphans and underprivileged children regardless of race or religion.

“The contributions and support given to these children are truly meaningful and deeply appreciated by the community,” she added.

She further expressed hope that events like ‘Kamboh Raya’ would inspire society to embrace the values of giving, love, and togetherness.

“May Allah bless us with peace, happiness, and success. Wishing everyone a blessed Ramadan and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” she concluded.

The ‘Kamboh Raya’ event was not just a celebration but a reminder of the power of kindness, fostering stronger bonds among the people of Sarawak. Through such initiatives, Plaza Merdeka continues to play a vital role in uniting communities and uplifting those in need. — UKAS EDITION
