According to a spokesperson from the State Fire and Rescue Department, it took several hours to extricate the 45-year-old victim from the wreckage. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene before his body was handed over to the police for further action.

Later in the evening, another fatal accident occurred at Kampung Nouga, along Jalan Tenghilan in Tuaran. A Perodua Bezza, a Perodua Viva, and a Mitsubishi Triton were involved in a three-vehicle collision at around 5.33pm.

The driver of the Perodua Bezza, a 20-year-old man, lost his life in the crash. Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene, and his body was subsequently handed over to the police.

Fortunately, all 10 occupants of the other two vehicles – consisting of a man, four women, and five boys – escaped unhurt.

Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads, especially during the festive season, when traffic volume increases significantly. The police are investigating both incidents to determine the exact causes of the crashes.

As families gather to celebrate Hari Raya, these tragic accidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety. Let’s drive responsibly and ensure that everyone gets to their destinations safely.
