PUSA: Preparations for the highly anticipated Beting Maro Carnival (KBM) 2025 are well underway, with the third coordination meeting held at Al-Amin Hall, Beladin, on Wednesday.
The meeting, chaired by Beting Maro Assemblyman (ADUN) Razaili Gapor, brought together key government department representatives and local community leaders from the Pusa and Beladin areas.
Scheduled to take place from 6 to 14 September 2025 at Dataran Temenggung Kadir, Beladin, the carnival promises a week of lively activities that celebrate the region’s rich cultural and economic landscape.
Highlighting Local Strengths
According to Razaili, KBM 2025 aims to serve as a platform to boost the local economy by highlighting the area’s abundance of natural resources and cottage industries.
“We want to highlight the economic strength of this area, which is rich in resources like nipah, apong, and fishery products,” he said.
“The carnival offers a valuable opportunity for local residents to market their products and expand economic opportunities.”
What to Expect at KBM 2025
The carnival will feature a wide range of attractions including:
- Grassroots sports competitions
- Government agency exhibitions
- Booths from higher learning institutions
- Sales and promotion of local products, especially nipah and sago-based goods
- Cultural showcases and performances
These activities are expected to attract both locals and tourists, enhancing community involvement and promoting regional tourism.
