Firefighters wasted no time and initiated the extinguishing process using one stream of water from the fire engine’s machinery tank.

Led by Jeffery Majin and supported by five personnel aboard a fire engine, the team managed to contain the blaze by 2.34 am. The operation was fully completed just 13 minutes later at 2.47 am.

Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported during the incident.

The swift response from BBP Batu Niah prevented the fire from escalating into a larger and more dangerous situation. The incident also highlights the potential risks associated with the accumulation of palm oil waste, especially in hot and dry conditions.

Authorities are urging plantation operators to ensure proper disposal and monitoring of agricultural waste to avoid similar incidents.

This case serves as a reminder of the importance of early reporting and fast response in fire emergencies, especially in rural and agricultural areas where fires can spread rapidly if left unchecked.
