The ceremony was officiated by Mulu State Assemblyman and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala.

He emphasised that the MRP remains a vital tool in the state’s efforts to ensure development reaches the most remote communities. “As of July 2025, a total of RM2.984 million has been distributed through the Mulu ADUN MRP fund, covering 216 approved applications. This is clear evidence that the government listens and takes action on the people’s needs,” he said.

At the event, RM64,000 worth of grants were distributed to several organisations including the Miri Sepak Takraw Association, Long Atip Residents Association, Highlanders Sports Club, Sarawak Berawan Association, AJKK Wanita Long Silat, PDK Sunflower Miri, SMK Marudi Alumni Association, and Bario Miri Single Mothers Association.

Datuk Gerawat also extended his gratitude to all community leaders, government departments, and agencies that have supported and collaborated with the Mulu ADUN office to ensure the success of various development and welfare programmes.

“This kind of support is crucial to ensure our outreach efforts remain impactful and inclusive, especially in areas as remote as Mulu,” he added.
