The event brought together over 100 participants, including 14 Chapter Presidents from across Sarawak, and was graced by the presence of Tanjung Datu Assemblyman Azizul Adenan, who officiated the programme as Guest of Honour. One of the key highlights was the symbolic bamboo planting ceremony, which marked the beginning of transforming the site into a centre for eco-tourism, sustainability education, and community engagement.

JCI Malaysia National Executive Vice President Tan Chin Jie praised the initiative, while Organising Chairperson Justine Yong expressed hope that the bamboo resort would serve as “a space where people can learn, connect, and grow with nature.”

The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 15: Life on Land. It aims to foster environmental stewardship, support green innovations, and promote youth-led sustainability efforts in Sarawak.

JCI Batu Kawa’s leadership in hosting this eco-centric gathering underlines their ongoing commitment to empowering young leaders and building a greener future for Sarawak.
