BELAWAI – The SAMASedia Series 3/2025 Programme concluded successfully after a three-day, two-night leadership development camp at the Kampung Belawai Community Hall, reaffirming Sarawak’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of visionary leaders.
The programme, spearheaded by Amanah Khairat Yayasan Budaya Melayu Sarawak (AKYBMS) and Susoul Management, received praise from Sarawak Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, and Kuala Rajang Assemblyman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, who officiated the opening ceremony on Friday.
“We need new successors to ensure the continuity of future leadership,” said Datuk Len. “This programme provides direction and guidance so our youth gain early leadership exposure.”
Datuk Len highlighted the SAMASedia initiative as part of a larger strategy to mould strong, resilient young leaders. He also referenced the recent SAMAsiswa 2025 programme held at Sumiran Eco Park & Resort, which involved 39 male and female students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The programme focused on strengthening identity and mental endurance, crucial traits for leadership and workplace readiness.
He stressed that preparing future leaders is a serious responsibility, as the stability and success of Sarawak depend heavily on the strength of leadership cultivated from the grassroots level.
“Leadership education must start early. We must empower our youth to become competitive both locally and globally,” he added.
SAMASedia 3/2025 is one of several continuous programmes under the “SarawakKu Sayang” initiative, aimed at developing youth leadership across various districts. Through camps like these, AKYBMS hopes to instil core values, build confidence, and spark ambition in Sarawak’s young people, ensuring that the state continues to thrive under capable and innovative future leaders.
Datuk Len expressed optimism that with sustained cooperation and dedication, Sarawak will continue to produce dynamic individuals ready to drive the state toward a brighter, more successful future.
