SINGAPORE – The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) has proudly represented Sarawak as a destination partner and judge at the inaugural HalalTrip Content Creator Tank, a highlight of the Halal In Travel Global Summit 2025 held in Singapore.

Organised under the theme “Halal Travel 360: Innovation, Experience, and Responsibility,” the summit convened global industry leaders, policymakers, and travel stakeholders to shape the future of Muslim-friendly tourism with a focus on sustainable and inclusive experiences.

STATOS stood alongside international destinations such as Spain and Hong Kong as one of only three destination partners. As part of the judging panel, STATOS assessed finalists pitching original content ideas to boost Muslim travel engagement. Among the standout participants was Nurul Amira Rahmat, the creator behind @asingaporeanabroad, who was chosen to represent Sarawak for her culturally rich and heartfelt pitch.

Amira, a cabin crew member with over 120,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, captivated the judges with a traditional Sarawak dance and her personal storytelling about visiting Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Her blend of creativity, sincerity, and cultural respect impressed the panel.

“Amira’s pitch was thoughtful, creative, and culturally respectful—qualities that strongly align with Sarawak’s values,” said Putrie Rozana Soraya, Deputy CEO of STATOS, who represented Sarawak during the judging. “Her approach stood out for its warmth and relatability. She impressed us not only with her creativity but also with her sincerity and deep appreciation for Sarawak.”

Putrie added, “It is an honour for Sarawak to be represented alongside global destinations. This platform allowed us to showcase that Sarawak is ready, relevant, and rich in authentic experiences for Muslim travellers.”

These include overseas learning programmes, student exchanges, and expert talks designed to deepen bilateral understanding.

Additionally, STATOS continues to work with travel agencies in Singapore to design innovative travel packages and marketing campaigns that spotlight Sarawak’s diverse and Muslim-friendly tourism offerings, amid the rising interest among Singaporean Muslim travellers to explore the state.
