In his address, Dato Ahmad described the reappointment as a profound honour and a renewed constitutional mandate granted by the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN). He emphasised that this responsibility reflects a political conviction to continue voicing Sarawak’s aspirations at the national level.

“This appointment is a mandate to defend the rights and privileges of the Sarawak region within the constitutional framework of Malaysia and the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63),” said Dato Ahmad. He reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding Sarawak’s autonomy over its land and natural resources, particularly the enforcement of the Oil Mining Ordinance 1958 (OMO), and to supporting the role of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) as a vital state-owned strategic entity.

Throughout his first term, Dato Ahmad has been a vocal advocate for Sarawak’s legislative and economic sovereignty, championing sustainable development that ensures prosperity for both rural communities and future generations.

He also emphasised the importance of national unity built on recognition of Malaysia’s regional diversity. “I will continue this second term with greater resolve. Let us not merely protest but bring hope—not to divide, but to strengthen unity. Let Sarawak not just belong in Malaysia, but lead it forward,” he said.

Dato Ahmad expressed deep appreciation to Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg for their continued trust and support in nominating him for a second term.
