The company acknowledged recent incidents where construction activities inadvertently caused damage to utility lines, particularly underground water pipelines managed by the Kuching Water Board (KWB). These incidents affected water supply along Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa in Kota Samarahan and Jalan Wan Alwi in Kuching.

In a statement, Sarawak Metro expressed its sincere apologies to the affected communities for the inconvenience caused by the disruptions and assured the public that swift remedial actions were taken. The company, in collaboration with contractors and KWB, promptly conducted repairs to restore the water supply in the shortest possible time.

Sarawak Metro further acknowledged KWB’s concerns and announced that it is currently reviewing and enhancing its operational protocols. The aim is to improve coordination between contractors, tighten on-site supervision, and prevent similar incidents from recurring.

The KUTS Project is a flagship urban mobility initiative designed to modernise transportation in Sarawak and reduce the region’s carbon footprint.
