KOTA SAMARAHAN – The Higher Education Tour (HTS) 2025 has arrived in Sarawak, marking a significant step in expanding educational access for local youth and rural communities.
The two-day programme, held at the Summer Shopping Center, is jointly organised by Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM) and Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) under the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) initiative. It aims to raise awareness of higher education opportunities and empower young people, particularly those in rural areas.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan MP, Datuk Rubiah Wang, officiated the programme and stressed that HTS 2025 aligns with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI, which emphasises social justice and the well-being of all Malaysians.
“Programmes like HTS provide students in Sarawak the chance to better understand the academic pathways offered by MARA institutions, leading to more stable and promising career opportunities,” said Rubiah.
The event featured educational counselling, course exhibitions, motivational sessions, and interactive alumni engagements. Information on diploma, degree, and professional courses offered at KPTM and UPTM campuses nationwide was also provided.
The programme was warmly received by SPM and STPM graduates, along with parents and school counsellors eager to explore MARA’s educational offerings.
HTS 2025 will continue its tour across Malaysia, aiming to elevate education as a catalyst for national and community development.
