“Upon arrival, the operations commander instructed members to inspect the site. They discovered that a car had fallen into a ravine about 100 metres from the main road. However, no victims were trapped inside the vehicle and no rescue was needed for the car itself,” he said in a statement.

According to him, the adult male victim managed to exit the vehicle on his own. He was later found lifeless about 50 metres away from the main road. A medical officer from the Ministry of Health (KKM) confirmed the victim’s death at the scene.

“The recovery operation involved the fire brigade, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Civil Defence Force (APM), and family members. Using a scope stretcher and rope system, the victim was brought up to the main road before being handed over to the police for further action,” Andy added.

The circumstances leading to the vehicle plunging into the ravine remain unclear, and police are expected to carry out further investigations.
