UNIRAZAK Delegation Meets Sarawak Governor to Strengthen Academic Ties

KUCHING – A delegation from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, the Governor of Sarawak, and Her Excellency Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi earlier today.

Led by Dato’ Mohamed Nizam Abdul Razak, Pro Chancellor and Chairman of UNIRAZAK’s Board of Directors, the visit aimed to strengthen institutional ties and discuss collaborative opportunities in education and research.

The delegation included key university officials such as CEO En. Amil Izham Hamzah, COO En. Mohamed Fairuz Mohamed Noor, and Vice-Chancellor Datin Paduka Prof. Dr. Samsinar Md. Sidin.

Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi, who previously served as Malaysia’s Minister of Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives (2020-2021), shared insights from his extensive federal government experience, including his involvement in constitutional matters and the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

He stressed the need for local scholars to produce more historical works on Sarawak and Malaysia to reduce reliance on foreign academic sources.

The Governor commended UNIRAZAK’s contributions to education and expressed hope that the university would continue fostering high-quality graduates and advancing research beneficial to national development.
