The aid distribution took place on Thursday at Nuri Ramani Mosque, where the event carried the theme “Strengthening Sustainability, Building Community Together.”

The programme was officiated by LCDA General Manager Datuk Seri Zaidi Madi, who underscored the agency’s commitment to initiatives grounded in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.

He said the effort reflects LCDA’s broader mission of enhancing community well-being and fostering sustainable development across Sarawak.

Beneficiaries, mostly comprising vulnerable households, received direct cash aid to help ease their daily burdens.

In addition, the mosque was presented with a traditional drum (beduk) to support religious activities, symbolising LCDA’s role in strengthening both social and spiritual aspects of community life.

Community leaders and local stakeholders were also present, including Kampung Santubong Village Head Hadi Moni, Nuri Ramani Mosque Chairman Shafie Uddin Mazhar, HIKMAH Training and Development Publicity Officer Sarbini Dahlan, senior LCDA officials, as well as members of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).

Their presence reflected strong collaboration between institutions and grassroots communities in ensuring that the programme reached those most in need.

The “LCDA Cares” initiative is part of a wider corporate social responsibility agenda that aims not only to provide immediate relief but also to nurture long-term sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity among rural and urban communities in Sarawak.
