SRI AMAN – Veterans of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) from the Sri Aman branch were granted an allocation of RM10,000 in recognition of their service and sacrifices.
The announcement was made by Bukit Begunan State Assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang during a Merarau ceremony held on Friday at the Golden City Restaurant.
The event, which also included the symbolic presentation of the Malaysian Service Medal (PJM) certificates, honored the contributions of veterans to national security and sovereignty.
In his address, Datuk Mong praised the veterans for their dedication and highlighted the ongoing role many play as community and tribal leaders in Sarawak.
“The discipline and extensive experience possessed by veterans are vital assets that significantly contribute to village administration and support government development initiatives,” he stated.
In addition to the veterans’ allocation, grants of RM7,000 were presented to All Saint Chapel Gua and RM10,000 to its Women’s Fellowship.
The gathering was attended by ATM veterans, community leaders, and special guests, celebrating the enduring legacy of the nation’s service members.
