KUCHING – The Jom Heboh Carnival 2025 is expected to significantly benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through its diverse mix of retail, entertainment, and service offerings.
The event, designed as a one-stop destination, aims to draw large crowds, creating substantial opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, highlighted the economic advantages for SMEs during a walkthrough at the Petra Jaya Celebration Square on Friday.
He noted that the carnival’s inclusive approach featuring over 100 kiosks with offerings ranging from fusion food to banking services and health screenings will attract families and visitors, thereby increasing sales and visibility for local vendors.
“When there is an attraction, people will come. With high footfall, small entrepreneurs benefit directly through enhanced sales,” he remarked.
The minister was accompanied by Datuk Mohd Efendi Omar, Chief Operating Officer of Media Prima OMNiA.
The state government has pledged ongoing support for such events, including potential expansion to other districts, to stimulate local business activity and community engagement throughout Sarawak.
