Officials present included Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, deputy ministers, local assemblymen, and department heads.

This run is one of several activities leading to the main Malaysia Day celebration tonight, emphasizing health, community bonding, and national pride.

Similar events were held elsewhere in Sarawak, such as a fun walk in Satok, Kuching, which drew hundreds of participants to promote unity and healthy lifestyles.

Malaysia Day, observed annually on September 16, commemorates the 1963 union of Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore (which later separated).

The day highlights national diversity and inclusivity, with calls for equitable development across all regions.
