Ummah Darul Hana 2025 Talk Highlights Unity and Islamic Values in Sarawak

KUCHING – The Ummah Darul Hana 2025 Talk, held in conjunction with the Sarawak-level Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1447H/2025M and the 70th anniversary of the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS), successfully became a platform to strengthen Islamic understanding and promote unity among the Muslim community.

The event, held at the Sarawak State Grand Mosque on Thursday, carried the theme “Prosperous Ummah” which emphasizes the importance of faith, syariah, and moral values in building a strong and united society.

Sarawak Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni, represented the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, at the gathering.

Also present were Sarawak Islamic Council President Datuk Misnu Taha, Chief Executive Officer of the Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, and Chief Syarie Judge Datu Awang Suhaili Ledi.

According to the organizers, the program aimed to increase appreciation of Islamic teachings, address contemporary challenges facing the ummah, and foster unity through the strength of religion and shared values.

Notably, the organization of the Ummah Darul Hana Talk also fulfilled the long-standing wish of the late Datuk Amar Puan Sri Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, wife of the Premier of Sarawak, who had hoped to see such an initiative realized.

The session was moderated by Shahudddin Marzuki, Chief Executive Officer of the Darul Hana Quranic Centre-MIS, and featured three prominent panelists: Sarawak Mufti Datu Kipli Yassin, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and motivational speaker Dr. Robiah H. Hamzah from RKH Motivation & Services.

The program began with a congregational Maghrib prayer, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasin, tahlil, and prayers for the deceased, before proceeding with the talk session and ending with a congregational Isyak prayer.

The Ummah Darul Hana 2025 Talk is expected to inspire greater unity among Muslims in Sarawak, while ensuring the teachings of Islam continue to be understood, appreciated, and practiced in daily life.
