KUCHING – The Sarawak sports contingent is undergoing intensive final preparations for the upcoming Borneo Games Kuching 2025 (BGK). Contingent leader Datuk Dr. Ripin Lamat recently conducted a comprehensive tour of training facilities at the Petra Jaya Sports Complex to observe athletes and coaches in their final training phase.
The visit included assessments at multiple venues, beginning with the Sarawak Archery Arena and the Sarawak Lawn Bowl Arena.
Later, the tour proceeded to the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre to monitor the swimming team’s drills, followed by observations at the Sarawak Stadium.
The itinerary concluded with an inspection of the badminton courts at the Indoor Stadium, which are being prepared for tournament play.
Datuk Dr. Ripin Lamat, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, engaged with coaches and athletes throughout the day.
He emphasized the importance of this final preparation stage ahead of the multi-sport event, which is scheduled to run from September 24 to September 28, 2025.
His presence was noted as a significant morale booster for the team, which is focused on achieving top performance for the state.
