The event was officiated by Datuk Rubiah Wang, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Member of Parliament for Kota Samarahan.

In total, 33 registered organisations received the grants, aimed at supporting local programmes, activities and small-scale projects run by Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Rubiah explained that this marks the fourth phase of allocations for the year. She emphasised that only organisations formally registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) are eligible for assistance to ensure proper monitoring and accountability.

“Many applications were received, but only registered bodies could be considered. I urge all organisations to ensure they are properly registered,” she said in her speech.

She also reminded grant recipients to practise transparency and integrity when managing the funds, adding that expenditure reports must be submitted before new applications can be made.

“Although the amount may not be very large, it is still valuable and should be utilised in the best way possible for the benefit of the association, the people, and the future of the community,” Rubiah noted.
