SADA Project May Be Integrated into MINTRED Development Plans

SRI AMAN – The Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) project has been proposed for inclusion in the development framework of the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) to strengthen economic opportunities in the division.

According to MINTRED Permanent Secretary Dzulkornain Masron, the proposal covers several key aspects, including positioning local entrepreneurs in strategic sectors to boost small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as identifying new industries that could contribute to Sri Aman’s economic growth.

He highlighted the need to align entrepreneurial development strategies with state government policies while ensuring active community involvement.

“Strategic collaboration between ministries, agencies, local authorities and entrepreneurs is vital to opening up more business opportunities. We want to see Sri Aman entrepreneurs become more competitive, able to reach wider markets, and ultimately contribute to the state’s overall economy,” Dzulkornain said during a strategic discussion session held at Wisma Sumber Alam on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, SADA Chairman Dato Sri Rohani Karim underscored that the empowerment of local entrepreneurs requires holistic support to prepare them for evolving challenges.

She stressed that beyond financial capital and infrastructure, entrepreneurs also need access to knowledge, networks, and market opportunities.

“Platforms like these are crucial to identify new potential and help entrepreneurs take the next step forward,” Rohani added.

The discussions mark an important step in strengthening Sri Aman’s economic base, with a focus on empowering local businesses to be resilient and future-ready.
