Cultural Economic Projects to Strengthen Identity and Economy in Pusa

PUSA – Efforts to strengthen cultural identity while creating new economic opportunities are being rolled out in Beting Maro, with a series of initiatives announced by Assemblyman Razaili Gapor.

Speaking at a community engagement session with village and community chiefs (KMKK) and residents at Dewan Rahmaniah on Friday, Razaili stressed the importance of unity and active participation in local organisations such as JKKK and community associations.

He revealed plans to support the development of arts, heritage and crafts as drivers of the local economy.

Among the key initiatives is the promotion of traditional products such as batik, songket and kelingkam, which he said could serve as cultural-economic assets for Beting Maro.

“The Beting Maro Service Centre will provide facilities and equipment to encourage residents, especially the youth, to engage in craft production that can strengthen the local economy,” Razaili explained.

He also urged local associations to work closely under the JKKK umbrella to ensure inclusivity and collective benefit for all communities in Beting Maro.

The event was attended by several community leaders, including Pusa District Chief Bujang Beni, Beting Maro Women’s Wing Chief Hajijah Lueng, Special Officer to the Assemblyman Awang Sarbini Gapor, and various village chiefs.

These cultural-economic projects are expected to empower residents by blending heritage preservation with sustainable income opportunities, while reinforcing community ties in the district.
