Simunjan Assemblyman Donates RM299,900 to Boost Education and Community

Simunjan Assemblyman Donates RM299,900 to Boost Education and Community

SIMUNJANSimunjan assemblyman Awla Dris has contributed RM299,900 to support educational institutions, community organisations and students in the Simunjan state constituency.

The cheque and gift distribution took place at the Simunjan District Council Hall on Wednesday. Awla said the initiative aims to ease financial burdens while fostering education and community development.

“The purpose of the donation is not only to ease the financial burden of the recipients, but also to support the enthusiasm for teaching and developing the younger generation,” he said.

“We want to see students from Simunjan excel in their studies and contribute to the state. At the same time, churches, schools and NGOs should continue to play a major role as pillars of community unity and well-being.”

Of the total allocation, RM290,000 was distributed to 11 churches, 15 schools via Parents and Teachers Associations (PIBG), and 20 NGOs.

Churches received RM39,000 to strengthen their programmes and support community welfare, while schools were granted RM111,000 to enhance learning facilities and student development.

NGOs engaged in sports, welfare and community activities received RM140,000 to continue their grassroots initiatives.

An additional RM9,900 was provided to 33 students pursuing higher education. Among them, engineering student Ashmabiatul Afifah Kasuma expressed her gratitude, saying the support lightened her family’s financial burden and motivated her to excel academically.

NGO representative Mohd Azlan Afiq Mohd. Nasir also thanked the assemblyman, noting the assistance will help sustain community programmes and youth development at the grassroots level.

The event was attended by Simunjan District Council Acting Secretary Sabli Razak, administrative representatives from the Simunjan District Office, and other local leaders.
